Andersen's Airfield Operations captures 5 PACAF awards Published April 1, 2008 By Airman 1st Class Nichelle Griffiths 36th Wing Public Affairs ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- Airmen from the 36th Operations Support Squadron Airfield Operations Flight captured five 2007 Pacific Air Force awards. Andersen's Airfield Operations Flight was the the only unit to win more than one award in airfield operations at the PACAF level, according to Lt. Col. David Hornyak, 36th Operations Support Squadron commander. The unit truly swept the board with awards ranging from the Airfield Management Senior NCO of the year and the Colonel Derrel L. Dempsey Officer of the Year award to the Air Traffic Control Training Achievement Award. "This is an outstanding achievement by everyone involved, and it goes to show the professionalism, dedication and commitment to duty exemplified by our Airmen," Colonel Hornyak said. Andersen's PACAF Airfield Operations Awards were as follows: Colonel Derrel L. Dempsey Officer of the Year: Capt. Billy Wilson Airfield Management Senior NCO of the Year: Senior Master Sgt.
