The Equal Opportunity (E.O.) Program is a function of leadership and command based on fairness, equity, and justice. The DoD Human Goals Proclamation forms the basis for the Air Force Equal Opportunity Program. The primary objective of the Air Force Equal Opportunity program is to improve mission effectiveness by promoting an environment free from personal, social, or institutional barriers that prevent personnel from rising to the highest level of responsibility possible. The program seeks to eliminate unlawful discrimination against military personnel, family members, and retirees based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex (including sexual harassment), Bullying/Hazing; Age and disability for DOD civilian employees.
In some cases, Alternative Dispute Resolution is an option that the E.O. office may use to facilitate communications between disputants and lead to early resolution of informal cases. Facilitation is the ADR technique authorized to resolve informal E.O. complaints. For further information, contact the E.O. office.
