Chapel Ministry

The Chaplain Corps establishes and implements religious ministries pursuant to the First Amendment of the Constitution. The Andersen AFB Chapel Team provides pastoral care, unit visitation, counseling, worship services and religious education to all 36th Wing, all tenant units', deployed personnel and civilian personnel and families assigned to Andersen AFB, Guam.

 

Catholic Services

Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic community is exciting and diverse. It is our mission to provide for the spiritual needs and foster the spiritual growth of our members celebrating the sacraments, building up the community, offering religious education and formation, and serving all of the community. We work hard to encourage and enable all parishioners to share actively in the life of our community according to their time, talent and financial resources.

Mass Schedule:

Sunday, Chapel 1 - 10:00 a.m.

Weekdays, Monday - Thursday - 11:30 a.m.

Holy Day of Obligation - 6:00 p.m.

Baptism:
Sacrament of Baptism, contact the Catholic Parish office at 366-6139.

Marriage:
Sacrament of Marriage/Marriage Validations/Annulments, contact the Catholic Chaplain at 366-6139.

Sacramental Records:
If you are in need of records of Sacraments performed at military installations, contact the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS), USA PO Box 4469, Washington, DC 20017-0469, Phone: 202-719-3605 or webpage: www.milarch.org. Official records are not kept at bases, only at the AMS.

Protestant Services
The heart of the Christian faith is worship, Bible study, fellowship and service. In order to meet the needs of our Protestant community, the Andersen AFB Chapel offers two styles of worship: Contemporary Service and Gospel Service. Each one is open to everyone, and our worshippers are encouraged to find the worship service which best meets their needs.

Contemporary Service:
Sunday, Chapel 2 at 9:00 a.m.

Gospel Service:
Sunday, Chapel 2 at 11:30 a.m.

Baptisms and Weddings:
Contact a Protestant Chaplain at 366-6139 for Baptisms and weddings. Allow three months prior to your wedding date for premarital counseling.

Counseling Services

If something is troubling you, please come in and talk about it. Helping people is our highest priority. Things discussed with a chaplain are confidential. An appointment is recommended, but walk-ins are always welcomed.

To arrange counseling, call the Chapel Center at 366-6139. Emergency cases may be seen any time on a walk-in basis during duty hours or by calling the 36th Wing Command Post at 366-2981 after duty hours and asking for the duty chaplain.

Good Morning Protestant Family, Sunday July 29th will be a Combined Service @1000. This service will replace the 0900 Contemporary and the 1130 Gospel for that day.

Catholic Mass will be at 11 am tomorrow.
Protestant Family, As we have been announcing, we will be having a combined Baptism service this Sunday May 20th @1000 at Tarague Beach that is replacing the 0900 Contemporary and 1130 Gospel service. Please be advised, in case of inclement weather, services will take place back at chapel 2 at the same time 1000. A confirmation message will be posted to this page to confirm the time and place of this event.
The Andersen AFB Chapel will be hosting a ribbon cutting/dedication ceremony for the new Religious Accommodation and Reflection Center (RARC). All are welcome to attend! The event will be taking place at the Chapel 1 Annex, Bldg 22024 on Monday 21 May 2018 at 1530. The RARC consists of four rooms dedicated to the "free exercise" of religion and First Amendment expression. Specifically, the RARC rooms provide space and materials for the Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Earth-based, Islamic, Orthodox Christian and the Latter Day Saint expressions of belief/faith/philosophy. Starting on 22 May, the RARC is available for use Monday-Friday, 0730-1630. Please call the Chapel at 366-6139 if you have any questions. Notes: (1) The faith groups represented in the RARC is based on historical demographic, faith-group affiliation information for Andersen AFB personnel. (2) If you require religious accommodation not available via the RARC, please contact the chapel. (3) Catholic and Protestant Christian programs are provided through other chapel venues.
