First Week of USAF's only Jungle Training Course Published July 25, 2024 36th Wing ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- In the later weeks of July 2024, the 736 SFS (36 CRG) conducted beta testing of the USAF’s only Jungle Course, enhancing ground force capabilities in a jungle environment. The goal of the 36 Wing is to be prepared to execute the pacing OPLAN. In order for this goal to be accomplished, the 36 Wing and forward operators within the 36 CRG must be able to operate in one of the most difficult and expansive theaters in the world. Skills learned in the jungle course will effectively act as a force multiplier, giving small teams the confidence to tackle mission requirements that larger teams would usually be utilized for. Introducing members to the discomfort of the jungle in a local environment will give them the confidence and mental fortitude to easily operate in forward locations to support the OPLAN. Stay tuned for a more in-depth look into the initiative in a later article!
