Hiker Rescue Operation
Andersen Air Force Base Fire Department firefighters and 36th Medical Group paramedics prepare an injured hiker for transport on Andersen AFB, Guam, April 11, 2025. Approximately 15 minutes down a steep-angled hike trail, the hiker was told to rest by their group. Paramedics were first to reach the hiker and after evaluation, deemed it too risky to have them continue up the cliff by themselves. Rescue operations were initiated and the hiker was carried up the hill via stretcher. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Pedro Tenorio)

Hiker Rescue Operation
Andersen Air Force Base Fire Department firefighters and 36th Medical Group paramedics rescue an injured hiker that was on a hike near Tarague Overlook at Andersen AFB, Guam, April 11, 2025. With loose limestone most of the trail, a steep slope both up and down, and many obstacles to duck and climb over, this particular hike is on the more difficult side for the hiker, let alone the rescue team carrying an injured hiker.
