This crash site is where uncle, Capt. Carl Bauer, and his crew perished after battling mechanical issues and bad weather. Liz has always wanted to visit the site. Her father, Capt. Bauer's brother, and her cousin Colleen, Capt. Bauer's daughter, have visited before. Liz and her family were able to make it to the site in 2025 for the 80th anniversary of the accident.
