14 IS Airmen perform funeral honors for WWII vet
Lt. Col. (retired) Dianne Hickey, former 14th Intelligence Squadron commander, and Maj. Andrew Soine, 14 IS director of operations, fold a flag as part of the military honors conducted during World War II veteran John “Jerry” Johnson’s funeral Oct. 23, 2021. Senior Master Sgt. Jonathon Washington performed Taps during the service. Johnson had served in Guam during World War II with the Army Air Corps in the 20th Air Force 9th Photographic Technical Squadron. His squadron ultimately became the 14 IS.

Lt. Col. (retired) Dianne Hickey, former 14th Intelligence Squadron commander, presents a flag to Tom, John “Jerry” Johnson’s beneficiary, during Johnson’s funeral service Oct. 23, 2021. Hickey, along with current 14 IS reservists Maj. Andrew Soine and Senior Master Sgt. Jonathon Washington, conducted the funeral honors. Johnson had served in Guam during World War II with the Army Air Corps in the 20th Air Force 9th Photographic Technical Squadron. His squadron ultimately became the 14 IS.
