Tech. Sgt. Brandon Franklin, 36th Comptroller Squadron noncommissioned officer in charge of the Financial Services Flight, was awarded Andersen's Best here May 5.

Sergeant Franklin was awarded Andersen's Best for his performance as the lead civilian pay clerk, responsible for monitoring and inputting 240 timecards, worth over $1.2 million yearly for Air Force and Navy assets. As the civilian pay clerk he identified and corrected a critical civilian pay accounting classification error; in doing so, he avoided incorrectly billing over $23,000 in an erroneous account and ensured eight employees were paid correctly and on time.

"Sergeant Franklin has proven himself to be a vital part of our team," said Master Sgt. Pamela Binnie, Financial Services chief. "He is a very motivated NCO and knows how to get the job done."

As the Deputy Disbursing Officer, Sergeant Franklin coordinated and made eight after duty hours Security Forces Squadron foreign exchange program payments totaling about $6,000. He simplified payments by removing the paying agent from standard practice, providing a smoother process and enhancing relations with foreign allies.

Sergeant Franklin played an instrumental role in the Financial Services Flight receiving PACAF/Financial Management Headquarters kudos this past quarter for the correction of 12 out-of-balance vouchers worth nearly $4,000 that were six months aged.
