This time of year, Airmen from across the Air Force come together to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, by attending base hosted events celebrating Mexican heritage and Patriotism.

This Cinco de Mayo, Andersen Airmen will come together to observe Mexican culture during a celebration hosted by the 36th Force Support squadron. The squadron has scheduled a Tex-Mex style buffet at the Sunrise Conference Center offered to all with base access.

“The SRCC’s First Friday monthly event will be a special one that is Cinco de Mayo themed,” said Ralph Ridgeway, a marketing specialist with the 36th FSS. “A Mexican inspired meal, games and desserts are scheduled to kick off at 4:30 pm.”

At 6:30 pm, a free shuttle is scheduled to take guests from the SRCC to the Arc Light Memorial Park and back for the “4 The People” reggae concert featuring multiple bands to include Rebel Souljahs, Eli Mac and Shar Carillo, beverages and food.

Dorm residents and meal card holders looking to get into a festive mindset close to home, the Magellan Inn Dining Facility will be opening at 5:30 pm and offer a home-cooked, Mexican inspired meal. The menu will feature chicken enchiladas, beef fajitas and Baja fish tacos with an assortment of sides.
