Planters Don't Grow on Trees! - Andersen Community Garden Initiative Published Sept. 19, 2024 By Staff Sgt. Pedro Tenorio 36th Wing ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- Volunteers from the 356th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Group, 36th Communications Squadron, 36th Medical Group, 36th Maintenance Squadron and the 513rd Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operations Repair Squadron Engineer Squadron, joined together on Saturday, Sept. 14, to create portable planters for the Andersen Community Garden Initiative. These planters have recently seen an uptick in demand by both squadrons and families requesting multiple at once. With the continuing growth of these mini gardens around base and the Andersen Fruit Tree Program moving to plant trees all around base, the Community Garden team is optimistic in its vision of the Andersen Base Community being able to get free, fresh, local, fruits and vegetables to share amongst each other.
