36th Security Forces Squadron engage in the Police Week Opening Ceremony Published May 14, 2024 By Senior Airman Akeem K. Campbell 36th Wing Public Affairs Andersen Air Force Base, Guam -- On May 13, 2024, the 36th Security Forces Squadron, conducted the opening ceremony of Police Week. From May 13 to 17th the 36th Security Forces Squadron will be conducting activities such as: the Defender’s Olympics, Memorial Flag Movement, 24 hour flag movement and more. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation declaring May 15th as Peace Officer Memorial Day, and the week in which it falls as National Police Week. The purpose of Police Week is to honor the efforts and sacrifices of the men and women in law enforcement.
