The mission of the 36th Contingency Response Group (CRG) is to build partnerships and set the theater to rapidly open airfields and establish airbases as directed by the Commander Pacific Air Force.
The 36th CRG incorporates over 52 AFSCs into one close-knit team to ensure mission success around the INDOPACIFIC. The 36th CRG was created specifically to respond to the growing number of dynamic contingency requirements in the INDOPACIFIC and is designed to expediently deploy tailored forces to immediately respond to crisis, while setting the theater through construction and partner nation interaction.
The 36th CRG is made up of five squadrons, to include the Contingency Response Squadron, who is responsible for first-in airbase-opening support, the 36th Tactical Advisory Squadron, responsible for building partnership capacity and security cooperation/Air Advising across INDOPACOM, the 736th Security Forces Squadron, providing first-in force protection across the region, the 644th Combat Communications Squadron, designed to rapidly deploy initial SATCOM and Radio comms in support of contingency response/humanitarian missions, and the 554th Red Horse squadron, who are designed to provide heavy construction support and repair in high threat, remote locations.
The cross-functional design of these five squadrons under one commander provides a unity of effort and support while ensuring proper integrated training and minimizes redundant taskings across the spectrum. We are all Air Advisors and we are all Contingency Response.
