U.S. Navy and Air Force perform Joint Service Hot Refueling Operation
U.S. Navy Airman Seaman Apprentice Strom Cook, Aviation Structural Mechanic VAW-125 Squadron leads the E-2D Hawkeye to begin the procedure of the hot refueling operation at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Mar. 20, 2024. The procedure includes the engine closest to the fueling truck to turn off. Then the maintenance crew will confirm that the aircraft is safe, and doesn’t have any hot brakes. Once confirmed that it’s safe, they’ll fold the wings in, and they can safely taxi in, and begin to execute the actual refueling at the actual hot refueling location.
