Philip Washington, 36th Wing Safety superintendent and his two daughters watch aircraft take off from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, during a take-off viewing day for exercise Cope North 22, Feb. 9, 2022. Service members, their families and civic leaders were invited to the flight line to learn the importance of Cope North while observing aircraft capabilities. Exercise Cope North is the U.S. Pacific Air Forces’ largest multilateral exercise and includes more than 2, 500 U.S. Airmen, Marines, and Sailors working alongside 1,000 combined Japan Air Self-Defense Force and Royal Australian Air Force counterparts.
