117 ARS Kansas Coyotes B-52 Refueling Mission

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Colby Kloepper, a boom operator with the 117th Air Refueling Squadron, demonstrates how to refuel a B-52H Stratofortress during an incentive flight June 26over the Pacific Ocean. The KC-135R Stratotanker, from the 190th Air Refueling Wing at Forbes Field, Kan., can hold up to 200,000 pounds of fuel. Nearly all internal fuel can be pumped through the tanker's flying boom, which is the KC-135's primary fuel transfer method. The 117th ARS offered Airmen an incentive flight to show them the aircraft’s capabilities while thanking them for their support during the unit’s deployment to Andersen.
