Operation Christmas Drop 2008

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam – Charles Ecret, Pacific Daily News videographer, films the holiday packages inside Santa 01, a C-130, Dec. 14 while flying on the first Operation Christmas Drop mission of 2008. The aircraft was packed with boxes filled with supplies bound for Pacific islanders living on the remote islands surrounding Chuuk. Team Andersen kicked off the humanitarian airlift mission Dec. 12 with a Push ceremony. Aircrews from the 36th Airlift Squadron, Yokota Air Base, Japan, are scheduled to drop 180 boxes on 70 remote islands from Dec. 14 to Dec. 19. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Jamie Lessard)
