Reserve refuelers participate in first exercise

(far right) Senior Airman Crystal Nix reviews aircraft forms on a KC-135 Stratotanker Jan. 9 during a refueling mission supporting an exercise over the Pacific theater. During the exercise the tanker off loaded over 90,000 lbs of fuel to support the 23rd Expeditionary Bomber Squadron B-52 Stratofortress long duration mission. The success of this exercise depends largely on support received from the 434th Air Refueling Wing, Grissom Air Reserve Base, Ind. tanker unit deployed to Andersen Air Force Base. This is one of the first exercises the tankers have participated in over the Pacific since assuming the refueling operations in early Jan. 2009.
