ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam - Lt. Col. Orlando "Slider" Sanchez, 90th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron F-22 Raptor pilot, explains the F-22A Raptor?s capabilities to Lt. Gen. Edward Rice, United States Forces Japan commander, and Brig. Gen. Phil Ruhlman, 36th Wing commander, during their tour at Hangar 1 here Feb. 13. A combination of sensor capability, integrated avionics, situational awareness, and weapons provides first-kill opportunity against threats. The F-22A possesses a sophisticated sensor suite allowing the pilot to track, identify, shoot and kill air-to-air threats before being detected. Significant advances in cockpit design and sensor fusion improve the pilot's situational awareness. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Courtney Witt)
