Secretary of Defense Dr. Robert Gates holds a press conference at Andersen Air Force Base May 30 answering questions the media has about his visit, military operations in the Asia-Pacific region, and other current issues surrounding Guam. Andersen was Dr. Gates' first stop in his week-long tour of the Asia-Pacific region. During his trip to Andersen, Dr. Gates also met with military and local government officials to discuss Guam's strategic importance in the region and the reallocation of forces throughout the Pacific.
