Global Hawk Groundbreaking Ceremony

A ground breaking ceremony took place Oct. 15 for a new hangar to hold several RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aerial systems projected for assignment on Andersen in 2009 and other military resources. The structure will be made to withstand local typhoon conditions of up to 170mph, as well as, resist earthquakes. The facility will have an air conditioned bay, fire suppression system, and LRE support. And its approximate cost is $40 million. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Sonya Padilla)
