Repainting history

Andersen’s F-4 memorial with its new paint scheme and restoration is a far cry from the condition the jet was previously in. The new paint scheme now reflects our F-4 is part of 36th Wing and the new tail flash signifies it as Andersen’s own aircraft. Andersen can trace its heritage to the 36th Fighter Wing from Bitburg, Germany, where that unit flew F-4E’s like this one. (Air Force photo/Senior Airman Brian Kimball)
