UXO DETONATION; NORTHWEST FIELD

Only a large crater remains after the detonation of a 500-pound unexploded ordnance at Northwest Field here. The World War II era bomb was discovered in March during a routine survey of the area. Members of the 36th Wing and local agencies worked together to ensure the detonation was safe and caused no damage to nearby wildlife. (U.S. Air Force Courtesy Photo)
