Andersen AFB, Guam --Master Sgt. Jim Doyle, 157th Air Refueling Wing boom operator, guides a drogue to refuel a U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornet from the Marine Aircraft Group 12 at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan during Valiant Shield 2012 over the Pacific Ocean Sept. 14, 2012. VS12 is a U.S.-only exercise with a focus on integration of joint training among U.S. forces in relation to current operational plans. This training enables real-world proficiency in sustaining joint forces through detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land and cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.
