ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam - Royal New Zealand air force members arrive here Oct. 7. During the team’s four-day visit to Guam, they will participate in a joint exercise, "Operation Island Chief," with the U.S Navy and Coast Guard. The Royal New Zealand air force is a critical component of the New Zealand Defense Force and New Zealand's security posture. It provides a military air capability that meets the requirements of the New Zealand Government - a capability that is characterized by its swift response, its long reach and ability to adapt to a range of contingencies. ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam - A Royal New Zealand air force P-3K Orion arrives here Oct. 7. The aircraft crew is normally composed of 12 crew members - two pilots, two flight engineers, two navigators (including tactical coordinator), one air electronics officer, four air electronics operators and one air ordnanceman. The P-3K accommodates a maximum of 21 personnel. The Royal New Zealand air force members are here to participate in "Operation Island Chief," a joint exercise with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.
