ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam - Team Andersen Airmen tour a B-52 Stratofortress from the 5th Bomb Wing, Minot Air Force Base, N.D. that is here to support the continuous bomber presence in the Pacific, March 10. The Pacific Airpower tour was created to help show Airmen how they contribute to the Andersen mission. SERVICE BEFORE SELF
Members of Team Andersen, including a doctor, a nurse, a housewife, a chaplain, an engineer, a student, two teens and an aircraft ground equipment mechanic, spent 17 Feb. to 27 Feb. in Cambodia during a humanitarian mission. The team brought a medical crew that provided a clinic to 1,039 patients in seven days, as well as brought two orphanages up to United Nations Children’s Fund standards by building a fence, painting, funding additions, wells and volleyball pits. The technicians use tools such as visual field analyzers, non-contact tenometers, retina cameras and corneal topographers to identify the dimensions of the patient’s eye and determine a prescription if needed. Rota Walk
A child enjoys the decorations and festivities during Rota Walk Dec. 18, an annual pilgrimage down Rota Drive, and one of Team Andersen’s most beloved traditions. More than 50 houses were adorned with lights and decorations that represented each commander’s respective unit.
