A four-year-old German Sheppard assigned to the 36th Security Forces Squadron Military Working Dog section passed away on May 18.
Freddy H152 was born in October 2002 and entered into the MWD training program in June 2004. He was certified as a Patrol Military Working Dog in October 2004.
Freddy arrived to Andersen in May 2005 and became a vital member of the 36th Security Forces Squadron integrated base defense operation.
Freddy greatly contributed to the mission as a Jungle/Patrol dog who conducted more than 723 hours of foot patrols in the jungle on Andersen.
He was the key player in securing three armed poachers during a Jungle Enforcement Team Operation in February 2007.
Freddy will never know how many lives he saved or how many homes he protected. All he knew was work, and working was his life. Freddy served with distinction and was "Man's best friend to many."
