36th FSS says thank you to Team Andersen Published Jan. 25, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Carissa Wolff 36th Wing Public Affairs ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- More than 800 Team Andersen members gathered at Tarague Beach to enjoy the 36th Force Support Squadron's Customer Appreciation Picnic Jan. 23 here. The event is held each year to give thanks to Team Andersen customers for their patronage and to honor military members and their families for their service. At the conclusion of the picnic, Maj. John Lofton, 36th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron commander, won the grand prize - free round-trip airfare for two to Cairns, Australia. "I was happily surprised when my name was called," Major Lofton said. "I never expected to win anything! I am definitely looking forward to using the tickets to Australia." The picnic was a culmination of the 36th FSS' annual Customer Appreciation Month Celebration held throughout January and featured more than $9,000 in prizes, free food, a volleyball tournament, the Electric Boonie Dogs band and children's activities.
