ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam--Being stationed on Guam, mail service has an increased importance to members of the Andersen team and their families. The distance in space and time between many Airmen and their families and friends back home makes the Postal Office a vital service for both morale and the 36th Wing mission.
36th Communications Squadron members Tech. Sgt Sarah Stewart and Tech. Sgt Lashanda Santiago along with Senior Airman Brendon Gordon are the key players in delivering more than 1 million pounds of mail per year to a variety of customers including unaccompanied military members, the HSC-25 Navy Squadron and civilian contractors that work on Andersen. They also serve 600-700 deployed personnel as well. The postal career field is unique in that it is a special duty assignment and is filled by a variety of Airmen with different professional backgrounds. Year-round this small team of dedicated professionals keeps its fellow Airmen connected through mail service.
