Andersen's Best is a recognition program which highlights a top performer from the 36th Wing. Each week, supervisors nominate a member of their team for outstanding performance and the wing commander presents the selected Airman with an award.

Staff Sgt. Danita Welch, 36th Medical Support Squadron, was awarded Andersen's Best, Oct. 1.

Sergeant  Welch was nominated by her supervisor, Master Sgt. Dienna Mosely, 36th Medical Support Squadron, for stepping up to positions usually held by a captain and master sergeant.

"She did an awesome job filling in for the flight commander and flight chief while they were deployed and at the Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy," said Sergeant Mosely.

During that time, Sergeant Welch had to juggle more than 30 programs, direct a 16-member flight, complete an Operational Readiness Inspection and maintain the Wing Medical Evaluation Program --  all the while training more than 17 clinicians on the process. She was responsible for creating eight Air Force Medical Service annual award packages and one Below the Zone package in which the individual won.
