Guam's 76th Liberation Day

  • Published

Brig. Gen. Jeremy Sloane, 36th Wing commander; and Chief Master Sgt. Jason Heilman, 36th Wing command chief, wish Guam's community a happy 76th Liberation Day anniversary on behalf of the Andersen Air Force Base team. On July 21, 1944, American troops returned to Guam to liberate its people from Imperial Japanese forces during World War II. Each year, on this day, the largest celebration on Guam takes place, celebrating the freedom won and lives given during the battle.
