Andersen Airman found dead on base

An Airman at Andersen was found unresponsive in base quarters and was pronounced dead at approximately 3 a.m. March 27.

"This is a terrible tragedy, and we are all deeply saddened by the loss of this Airman." said Brig. Gen. Douglas Cox, 36th Wing commander. "Losing a member of our team is the most difficult thing we face, and today we have lost a member of our Air Force family."

"Our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers go with the family. We will ensure the welfare of those directly affected by this tragedy," said Gen. Cox.

In accordance with U.S. Air Force policy, the Airman’s name is being withheld for 24 hours after next of kin notification. The cause of death is currently under investigation.
