More than 700 Team Andersen members gathered at Tarague Beach to partake in the 36th Services Squadron's customer appreciation picnic Feb. 29.

This picnic was a culmination of the 36th SVS' annual Customer Appreciation Month Celebration held throughout February and featured more than $9,000 in prizes, free food, a karaoke contest and children's activities.

Picnic goers were also treated to the newly renovated Tarague Beach.

"It looks great," said Senior Airman Jimmy Canning, 36th Air Mobility Squadron. "They really did a good job with the parking lot."

At the conclusion of the picnic, two grand prizes were awarded. The first, a free round-trip airfare for two on a Continental Airlines flight to Cairns, Australia, was won by Tech. Sgt. Kim Owens, 36th Communications Squadron.

"I simply could not believe that my name was called," she said. "I never win anything!"

Master Sgt. Robert Barnett, 36th Civil Engineer Squadron, won the second grand prize - a roundtrip ticket for two to Hong Kong.

During the month, the 36th SVS "Spin & Win" wheels game gave customers at Services' facilities throughout the base an opportunity to win a variety of prizes. The picnic was sponsored by Continental Airlines and Exchange New Car Sales Chrysler.
