Andersen spouse in dislocated worker program participant cooks up a storm

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam --  Team Andersen's Mrs. Sheila Delagdillo, a second year culinary arts student at Guam Community College and a military spouse dislocated worker program participant, was recently selected to represent GCC at the 11th Annual Pacific Hotel and Restaurant Expo Culinary Arts Competition held at Hyatt Regency Hotel. She showed off her talents making Cubano Isleno Sandwich. Mrs. Delagdillo will be the first dislocated worker program participant to graduate with an Associate of Arts degree in Culinary Arts in December.

This semester, a total of 19 Team Andersen spouses are attending courses at the University of Guam and GCC. The spouses received a total of $37,538.00 of free tuition, books and fees. Since the inception of this program in January 2007, spouses received approximately $90,000.00 of free assistance.

When a spouse is unable to continue an employment relationship because of the service member's permanent change of station to Guam, or a spouse loses employment because of the service member's discharge from the military, the spouse meets the eligibility criteria for the dislocated worker program.
