Airman dies in off-base motorcycle accident Published July 10, 2026 36th Wing ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- An Airman assigned to Andersen Air Force Base died following an off-base motorcycle accident on July 11, 2026. The name of the deceased is being withheld until 24 hours after next of kin notification. “Today, we mourn the loss of a valued member from Team Andersen,” said Brig. Gen. Dan Cooley, Commander of the 36th Wing. “Behind every uniform is a family and a circle of friends whose lives have been forever changed by this tragedy. We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and fellow Airmen during this difficult time. As we grieve together, we remain committed to supporting one another and honoring the memory of our teammate.” Chaplains, mental health professionals, Military and Family Readiness Center personnel and other helping agencies are available to provide support to Airmen, families and teammates affected by this loss. Anyone in need of assistance is encouraged to reach out to their chain of command or one of the installation’s helping agencies. The accident is under investigation by the Guam Police Department.
