Indo-Pacific Safety Air Forces Exchange 2025 Published June 17, 2025 By Senior Airman Audree Campbell 36th Wing Public Affairs ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- Safety subject matter experts from all around the Pacific region gathered in Guam for the Indo-Pacific Safety Air Forces Exchange (ISAFE) May 5-8, 2025. ISAFE is an annual exchange aimed at ensuring aviation safety through open discussion and individual dialogue between the United States, Allies and Partners. The event focused on answering aviation safety issues through cooperative solutions and communications allowing for future and current bilateral and multilateral exercises, events and operations. “I’m constantly impressed with how much we have in common with our Indo-Pacific allies and partners,” said Col. H. Warren Rohlfs, director of Safety, Headquarters Pacific Air Force, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. “The imperative of aviation safety is one of the most compelling.” For 2025, ISAFE saw attendance from Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Mongolia, Maylasia, Maldives, South Korea, Taiwan, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Thailand, and United Kingdom. “While nations may approach safety differently, the purpose of this conference is to allow room for collaboration and growth together,” said Rohlfs. During his opening remarks, U.S. Air Force 36th Contingency Response Group commander Col. Daniel Mendoza recognized the members by saying, “I cannot emphasize this enough, the work you do as a safety officer, saves lives.” ISAFE events help build better safety programs to protect personnel and equipment regardless of country which increases interoperability and safeguards readiness of the participants to ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific. “These professionals are each a credit to their nation and a testament to our collective commitment to peace and security in the Indo-Pacific,” said Rohlfs.
