The 36th Medical Group will celebrate Patient Safety Awareness Week March 4 through 10.

This is a national education and awareness-building campaign for improving patient safety in United States military and civilian hospitals.

As part of an on-going effort, staff will focus on communication and medication safety. Patients are encouraged to become an active partner in managing healthcare by asking questions. Understanding the different aspects of care builds partnerships and helps to improve patient safety. Remember to share information about current illnesses or health concerns so providers can thoroughly answer any questions.

During Patient Safety Week, wallet sized medication logs will be available at Family Practice, Pharmacy and Aerospace Medicine Clinic check-in desk. These logs can be used to document the prescribed and over-the-counter medications you are taking so you can share this information with your pharmacist, doctor, and other caregivers. The 36th MDG continuously looks for ways to improve the safety of patients. For more information, contact the Patient Safety Manager at 366-3882.
