60th Anniversary Commemorative Postmark
Andersen's Military Post Office will hold a commemorative postmarking event in honor of the Air Force 60th Anniversary. 

The date and time of the event are pending the arrival of the stamp, however the information will be posted on Andersen's website at www.andersen.af.mil and on cable channel 70, the Commander's Access Channel.

Football Frenzy
Team Andersen members can watch Monday Night Football during Football Frenzy at 11 p.m. Tuesdays at Hightides. The buffet is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and costs $5 for club members and $6 for nonmembers. Attendees can register for door prizes and enter for a chance to win tickets to a regular season game, the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl.

Harvest Festival
The Harvest Festival is from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 at Chapel 2 and is open to all Team Andersen members. The Harvest Festival provides a safe, family and Christian oriented, environment for night of the 31st. There will be games and activities for all ages. Games include sack races, cake walk, a dunking booth, jumpy castles, face painting, and an Ark in the Park. Prizes and candy will be given away, but people shouldn't wear scary costumes. Retiree Activity Office
Andersen's Retiree Activities Office is located in the 36th Mission Support Squadron Commander's Support Staff office.  The office is available by appointment only.  For more information about the RAO, call 366-1059 or 366-4557, e-mail RAO@andersen.af.mil.  Andersen's Retiree Activities Officer is Bill Cundiff , who works at the Airman Family and Readiness Center, is available at bill.cundiff@andersen.af.mil.

Arc Light Blvd Construction
Contractors began construction on traffic barriers Aug. 29. The scheduled completion date is Sept. 30. During the construction, drivers will be diverted around the construction on a temporary bypass road. This bypass road will be for two-way traffic and limited to 15 mph. Drivers are highly encouraged to use Santa Rosa gate during rush hour. Santa Rosa gate is open from 5:30 to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 366-2535. 

Andersen Home School Support Group
A support group is available for families doing home schooling on base. Currently are 12 families in the support group. Please contact Stephanie McCully, 653-7335 for more information about the support group and home schooling. 

Hightides Open
The new "Hightides" enlisted lounge at the Top of the Rock is now open for business. Hours of operation are: Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.; Friday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Tarague Beach Jungle Areas
Beginning Monday the Tarague Beach jungle areas are open for trail hiking from Friday through Sunday, including holidays. Monday through Thursday, except holidays, the trail is open for archery hunting. For more information, call 366-3550. 

Wing Ding Night
Wing Ding Night is Thursdays from 4 p.m. to midnight at the Top of the Rock. 
Wings cost 10¢ for club members and are 25¢ for non-club members.  "To go" orders cost $.35/wing with a maximum of 30 wings per person.  A live band will provide the entertainment.  Families are welcome in the ballroom.

Fajita Night at the Club
Fajita Night is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Top of the Rock. Patrons will be able to create their own fajita masterpiece, choosing from beef, chicken, shrimp, bell pepper and onions, plus all the fixings. Cost is 75 cents an ounce. Extras provided free (not weighed) include tortillas, cheese, sour cream, salsa, tomatoes, rice and beans. There will also be an ice cream bar for dessert

Airman's Attic Volunteers Needed
The Airman's Attic needs volunteers to help maintain operations. To volunteer, call 366-8136.

Holiday Seasons Bazaar
A holiday seasons bazaar is scheduled to be held at the Top of the Mar, Nimitz Hill Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For vendor application requests or more information, contact Bernie Leon Guerrero at 689-1090, 687-9913, 734-5456 or email b_leonguerrero@yahoo.com.

Free Outdoor Movie Night at Arc Light Park
The next free outdoor movie night will be Sept. 29 at Arc Light Park. The movies will be the PG-rated family film "Firehouse Dog" at 7 p.m. followed by the nonrated sci-fi feature "Babylon 5," at 9p.m. There will be free popcorn and drinks available for sale. Andersen Travel Fair
The annual Andersen Travel Fair will be held Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Oceanview Conference Center. The fair will feature more than 30 leisure, travel, and
recreation companies from Guam and the Pacific region showcasing what they have to offer the Team Andersen community. There will also be door prizes including two trips courtesy of Continental airlines.

Boonie Car Contest
Bamboo Willies is hosting a "Boonie Car Contest" Sept. 29 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Tarague Beach. The car judged as the worst boonie car will receive $500 in Services Bucks to use at the auto hobby center. The vehicle needs to be "street legal" and must be driven to and from the beach under its own power. Judging will take place at 2 p.m. with the winner announced at 6 p.m. Spectators are also encouraged to come out and to enjoy the cars, a buffet, and games for the kids. At 8 p.m., the stateside alternative rock band, "Tripdavon," will take the stage. For more information, please call 366-6166.
