SERE CBT to be completed by June 30 Published Jan. 21, 2008 By Celestin Babauta 36th Mission Support Squadron ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- The Air Force Chief of Staff has directed major commands and commanders to make sure that all active duty, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve Component personnel complete the Air force Survival, Resistance, and Escape training by June 30. The purpose of the training is to prepare Airmen for the challenges of the modern battlefield. Training can be accomplished through computer-base training on https://golearn.csd.disa.mil. Members can also log on to the Air Force Portal and locate it under the Mobility and Readiness Section of Advanced Distributed Learning Service. When possible, commanders will use local SERE specialists to teach or augment the CBT. The training may take up to four hours; therefore personnel are advised to allocate enough time to successfully complete the course. By completing the training, individuals will satisfy the Department of Defense Level B SERE training requirement. In order to stay current, members must complete the course once every 20 months. Airmen who have completed the DoD Level C or higher SERE training are exempt from this requirement. Completion of the S-V80-A Combat Survival Course or equivalent at Fairchild AFB, Wash., satisfies Level C training. Pacific Air Forces headquarters personnel will be pulling monthly reports to track training completions.
