Twelve Airmen from the 302nd Services Flight from Peterson AFB, Colo., arrived here June 1 for a two-week temporary duty assignment to support Andersen's mission while meeting their annual Air Force Reserve requirements.

In the Air Force Reserves, members are required to serve one weekend a month and at least two weeks annually in active duty status.

The personnel from the 302nd Services Flight assisted Team Andersen at the Coral Reef Fitness Center, Skyline Flight Kitchen and the Magellan Inn providing a fresh take on operations.

"It's great that we had the 302nd here to provide a new and fresh perspective on our operations here," said Tech. Sgt. Jonathan Payton, 36th Force Support Squadron noncommissioned officer in charge of readiness and plans. "As they say, 'two heads are better than one'."

Integration is important in all military units, especially the Air Force Reserves since the Reservists integrate with active duty and Air National Guard personnel regularly to complete missions.

"This opportunity to come to Andersen was a valuable learning experience for all of us," Sergeant Brassard said. "The best experience that the 302nd gained was from being integrated smoothly with active duty personnel. Experiences like the one here allow us to work with active duty or personnel in the future, integrate seamlessly and employ the total-force concept."

According to Master Sgt. Robert Bostick, 302nd Services Flight superintendent of lodging, fitness and recreation and mortuary affairs, the training opportunity cut both ways.

"We also provided Team Andersen with valuable training information while here," Sergeant Bostick said. "Because we are 'Citizen Airmen,' we were able to provide new ideas and perspectives based on our civilian lives, jobs and experiences to applied to military operations and situations here."
