Staff members from Chapel Two here will host the annual Harvest Fest celebration Oct. 31 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

More than 300 members of the Andersen community attended the 2008 Harvest Fest and the staff looks to increase that number.

"Harvest Fest provides a family safe, spiritually oriented environment for Halloween," said Staff Sgt. Jermaine Kellogg, 36th Wing NCO-in-charge of program support for the chapel.

Community members are treated to a wide range of activities for themselves and their families.

"There are game booths, prizes, candy, jumpy castle, cake walk and face painting," said Tricia Patterson, 36th Wing Protestant religious education coordinator. "[The staff also serves] free food such as hotdogs, chips, soda, popcorn, cotton candy [and] snow cones."

Team Andersen members and their families are highly encouraged to come out and take part in this morale-boosting endeavor. Staff members also seek volunteers to come out and interact with the children.

"[The event is open] to all Andersen community members," Mrs. Patterson said. "For those who do attend, we [request] they do not wear scary costumes.
