ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam - Staff Sgt. Jesse Buettner and Senior Airman Josh Dawson, 36th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chiefs, conduct a thorough flight inspection after arrival here Sept. 13. The maintenance Airmen are a vital part of the exercise Valiant Shield 2010, keeping the aircraft in flight. More than 150 aircraft will participate in Valiant Shield, including B-52 Stratofortresses, F-15 Eagles, F-15E Strike Eagles, E-3 Sentry airborne warning and control aircraft, KC-10 Extenders, KC-135 Stratotankers, P-3 Orions and F/A-18 Delta Hornets. More than 100 of the aircraft will fly from Andersen to conduct sorties in various exercise scenarios.
