Andersen's Best Airman 1st Class Kendall Thompson Published Nov. 3, 2011 By Senior Benjamin Wiseman 36th Wing Public Affairs ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam-- -- Airman 1st Class Kendall Thompson, 36th Medical Group medical technician, was awarded Andersen's Best here, Oct. 28. Airman Thompson performed trauma assessment and neuro checks during a real-world incident in Tumon, Guam. Airman Thompson witnesses a young women being struck by a vehicle and aided the victim until fire emergency and ambulatory assistance arrived on the scene. Airman Thompson also assisted the fire department in applying a c-collar, loading the victim onto a backboard and placing her in the ambulance. Airman Thompson used her professional skills she developed during the Air Force to assist during an accident. Andersen's Best is a recognition program which highlights a top performer from the 36th Wing. Each week, supervisors nominate a member of their team for outstanding performance and the wing commander presents the selected Airman/Civilian with an award.
