Boyd, 554th REDHORSE structural craftsman, was awarded Team Andersen's Best, Dec. 13. Sergeant Boyd is an exceptional craftsman that takes charge on his projects and is trusted to train the Airmen on the latest structural techniques. He led a crew of four in design, fabrication and building of a rain water drainage system for a $731,000 warehouse project saving over $12,000 in contract costs. "Sergeant Boyd has been one of our go-to guys during the buildup for Northwest Field and the Pacific Air Force Regional Training Center," said Tech. Sgt. Michael Malone, 554th REDHORSE. "He has all of the job skills and leadership it takes to lead massive construction projects, yet still has time to be an equally effective supervisor. Hands down he is one of the finest NCO's I have ever had the pleasure of working with." Sergeant Boyd also built a concrete pad and steps for the 554 RHS static display, as well as a memorial to fallen Navy Explosive Ordinance Device servicemen fostering inter-service relationships as well as creating a lasting legacy at Andersen. Andersen's Best is a recognition program which highlights a top performer from the 36th Wing.
