The 36th Logistics Readiness Squadron repairs a newly acquired 25-K Loader on Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Nov. 21, 2024. Vehicle Maintenance and Ground Transportation Airmen combined their capabilities to further mission readiness.

Master Sergeant Anthony Cruz, senior enlisted leader of the Deployment and Distributions flight, 36 LRS, oversaw the assignment along with Master Sergeant Keith Coleman, vehicle fleet manager, Vehicle Maintenance flight, 36 LRS, to ensure operation success.

“The 25K- Loader is material handling equipment,” Cruz stated. “Its job is to assist in the off and onloading of cargo for the aircraft which is mission critical.”

During an assessment of the material handling equipment, Airmen identified a complication. The VM and GT Airmen analyzed the problem and executed repairs within 30 minutes. Their swift restoration demonstrated efficient mission readiness.

“A 4- member recovery team was sent to the port of Guam to troubleshoot and move a in-operable 25K Cargo Loader valued at $750,000,” stated Technical Sgt Jonathan Rowely, noncommissioned officer in charge. “The Airmen performed electrical diagnoses and replaced the faulty engine control module, allowing the vehicle to be offloaded.”

36 LRS GT and VM flights exemplified the Airmen’s structured and effective capabilities to prepare and support the pacing OPLAN.
