The 2021 Overseas Housing Allowance and utility expense survey for uniformed service members stationed overseas is now open until May 31, 2021.

Taking the survey is voluntary; however, full participation is essential as the data provided will directly impact utility and recurring maintenance allowances paid to service members and will enable the Department of Defense to set equitable OHA rates.

Members eligible to take the survey are those who reside in off-base private housing and have been receiving OHA in Guam for at least six months. Homeowners or rent-sharers do not need to take this survey as historically their expense data is different from renters upon which the OHA program is based.

Members may take the survey at home with their spouses. It is recommended to use the most accurate amounts from previous utility bills and leases when completing the survey.

The survey takes approximately 30 minutes and can be found at: https://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/ohaSurvey.cfm?ID=may-util
