Remains of Pagat swimmer identified Published Nov. 23, 2016 36th Wing Public Affairs ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam – An Airman, whose remains were recovered from Guam’s waters Nov. 21, were identified as Senior Airman Travis Bennet, 20, of the 121st Fighter Squadron, 113th Wing, D.C. Air National Guard. The cause of death is still under investigation. A combined search and rescue team comprised of U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam, Guam Fire Department and Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 responded with an extensive search operation along the coastline near Pagat Point Nov 20. "Our hearts go out to the wingmen and families during this difficult time. We ask Team Andersen and Guam to keep your thoughts and prayers of support directed toward all those impacted," said Brig. Gen. Douglas Cox, 36th Wing commander. "We thank all on and off-base responders for their dedicated efforts during the past few days." The 121st FS deployed to Andersen AFB in November as a routine theater security package, demonstrating the continuing U.S. commitment to stability and security in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
