U.S. Air Force Maj. Steven Starley, a pilot assigned to the 191st Air Refueling Squadron, and U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Matthew Scherbel, a pilot assigned to the 191 ARS, conduct pre-flight procedures before take-off at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam on Nov. 8, 2022. The A-10s transited from Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, to Andersen AFB, Guam, to participate in a Dynamic Force Employment Operation which is designed as a way for Pacific Air Forces to exercise their ability to generate combat air power from dynamic force elements while continuing to move, maneuver, and sustain these elements in geographically-separated and contested environments.
