GVB teams up with DPW and military volunteers for Median Improvement Project
The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) has teamed up with the Department of Public Works (DPW) and volunteers from the Andersen Air Force Base Sister Village Program to water blast and paint medians as part of efforts to beautify and improve traffic safety in Tumon. “GVB provided the supplies for this project, while DPW assisted with traffic control and additional manpower,” said Acting President and CEO Bobby Alvarez. “We thank DPW and the 17 volunteers from Andersen Air Force Base for their help with the median improvement project. This truly was a community partnership. We have plans to continue median and crosswalk painting into Tamuning and Hagatña in the coming weeks.” The cost was about $20K for supplies and equipment rental. The project began April 15th and was from the Archbishop Flores Rotunda to the Westin Hill.
