Bomber Airmen pay 80th anniversary tribute to volcano response
Capt. Craig Quinnett, 23rd Expeditionary Bomb Squadron aircraft commander, sports a 23rd Bomb Squadron patch Dec. 28, 2015, at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Two B-52 aircrews assigned to the 23rd Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, currently assigned here as part of the U.S. Pacific Command's continuous bomber presence, conducted a bomber Airmen heritage flyover of the Mauna Loa volcano, Hawaii. During the tribute flight, crew members proudly wore their squadron patch, which displays bombs falling into a volcano. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Joshua Smoot)
