Operation Christmas Drop 2008 Push Ceremony
ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam - Brig. Gen. Phil Ruhlman, 36th Wing commander, and Bruce Best, University of Guam Telecommunication and Distance Education Operation station manager, push the first Operation Christmas Drop box filled with supplies into a C-130 Hercules from Yokota Air Base, Japan here Dec 12. Donations from military members and island residents filled more than 180 boxes that will be delivered to over 70 remote islands, making 2008 one of the most successful airdrops in its 56 year history.
